Ruedi Homberger or "The Snow Monster" as he's better known in the Wrangells, has been a perennial fixture at the lodge during his favorite season, spring skiing, for close to 20 years. He and his Swiss family have become dear members of the extended Claus Clan. Over the years Ruedi has documented the goings on and the seasonal moods of this wild kingdom. It is now our privilege to see his unmatched collection of Wrangell Mountain photographs honored in such a beautiful way. Thanks to the writing and artistic input of Jona and Jon Vanzyle (also fixtures in the Claus Clan) this coffee table book stands out as a glimpse into a world few people see.

If you have enjoyed the photos on this website, then pick up a copy of My Wrangell Mountains and you’ll be blown away. Available through your local book seller or University of Alaska Press.
