100 Miles from the End of the Pavement.
Sunlight streams in. You stretch out on a bearskin rug, breathe deep the smell of wood smoke, and gaze out at the vast expanse of water, and the mountains towering over Alaska's Chitina river.
After an afternoon of exploring...
You stroll upto the wood-fired sauna. The smoke coming out of the chimney tells you that our crew has lit the fire and the time to rejuvenate awaits you inside.
Later, you come up to the main lodge where the table is set awaiting the Chef's creation. The smell of the freshly baked bread is nearly irresistible. You grab a sip to drink, a seat on the deck, and take in the mountain peaks that are being gilded in pink.
You trade stories and snapshots of the day’s adventures, all the while knowing that right now, you are living the perfect moment. You have been unbelievably – perhaps unexpectedly – transformed by the spectacularness of the Alaska wild.
The main lodge sits at the top of the hill and houses the dining room, open kitchen, and sitting room with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the mighty Chitina River and mountains to the South. The attached deck has cozy furniture and a beautiful fire circle for those crisp nights.
Dining
Dining at the lodge features beautifully curated dishes prepared by our Chef with fresh Alaskan ingredients. We grow many of our ingredients in our organic gardens and greenhouses right here on our property. (Ask for a tour!) Salmon and wild game are harvested locally. A selection of Alaskan microbrews as well as lodge favorite reds and whites are available. If coffee is your thing, we have you covered with made-to-order espresso drinks. Elevate your dining experience by indulging in our Private Chef's Table Dining enhancement if you want an intimate night of service and culinary craftsmanship just for you. Additionally, our kitchen is happy to accommodate special dietary needs with our meal customization package and advanced notice.
