Climbing Charters
- Our location has the best weather of any area in the park. We can access the mountains most of the time.
Coming in from our dry side avoids endless waiting and delays. We live here year around. We are avid skiers and climbers with innumerable first ascents in the area. We do not have many standard landing areas as the glaciers change so much. Our goal is to get you to the best place possible in which to start your climb. We do have a high altitude landing charge for landings above 10,500 feet. - We understand the mountains, can give you precise information from a climbing point of view and we provide services such as transportation, fuel, and support services while waiting to go to your mountain. We are extremely concerned about safety and will contact you via radio (required) and keep track of you the best that we can while you are out. We do not guarantee any contact while you are out but if we are in the area on other business we will try to contact you.
- Ultima Thule Air Service is located at our home 100 miles up the Chitina River from Chitina, Alaska airport.
We access all mountains in the Wrangell St./Elias National Park with our bush airplanes. We have a standardized price per mountain or area. If you do not see your destination listed please contact us for rates. All rates are round trip from Chitina. Remember our airplanes are flying you twice for the price that is quoted. - Prices are per person and may vary according to the route or support required for your climb.
Our Current Air Taxi Rates for selected mountains are below. All prices are round trip from Chitina. It does not matter how many of you there are, we will organize the plane that is best. We fly a Turbine Otter, Cessna 185, and Super Cubs. All are ski equipped and we fly to the mountains all year around.
